italian designer massimo iosa ghini created 'lens' system for iguzzini.

the fluid shape characterizing the new 'lens' system houses an innovative technology

of microprismatic optics within its absolute linearity. the lens seems to almost vanish

into the environment, giving rise to lighting coverage specifically devised for office applications.

its different versions - suspended (single or continuous), recessed and surface mounted -

are ideally suited for offices and workplaces with VDUs and the system ensures

a high visual comfort solution due to the excellent luminance control. the special surface

of the screen provides full luminous emission thanks to it's microprismatic texture.

while the light is extraordinarily brilliant and well diffused in the environment,

the light source is concealed and produces no glare.

in the suspended version, the up and down light double emission combines effective

general lighting with an indirect component; this balances the shadows and contrasts within

the environment, therefore achieving greater uniformity.

the innovative optical principle benefits from the advantages of the prismatized methacrylate

diffuser to maintain excellent luminance control in a clean shape, guaranteeing a wide,

diffused up light emission and a visually comfortable down light emission.

the system has been presented at the milan design week 2010.

지난 주말, 두물머리로 바람을 쐬러 다녀왔다.

두물머리 입구에서 화분을 파는김에 - 봄은 왔는데 우리집은 너무 칙칙해 보여서 -
만원주고 세 개를 사서 하나는 남자친구를 주고, 두 개를 우리집으로 가져왔다.
집은 상큼해졌지만, 기분은 좀처럼 나아지질 않는다.
이건 분명 - 회사에서 받는 스트레스 때문!

요즘 책을 - 아주 이론적인 - 읽어야 하는데,
읽기만 하는것이 아니라 당연히 서머리도 해야하고
나의 생각과 또 발표할 그 무언가를 만들어야 한다.
책을 다 읽다보니 맞는말이긴 하다만, 크게 느끼는바가 없고 (책을 잘못골랐다)
너무 이론적인거라 재미도 없다. 이걸로 작업물을 만들어야 한다니 끔찍한 상황.

한달 전 쯤인가, 그동안 읽고 싶었던 책들을 일곱권 정도 샀는데
덕분에 창가에 쌓아놓고 전혀 책장을 넘길 수 없는 상황이 되어버렸다.
창가를 오가는 보리아리가 잘근잘근 밟고 다니는 중.

다음 주 화요일 세미나가 얼른 지나고, 나에게도 얼른 상큼한 봄이 왔으면 좋겠다.
물론 또 두달은 금새 돌아오겠지만.

하나는 레몬트리, 하나는 이름이 뭐더라.

"Samsung Behold" for T-Mobile

I directed this animation in partnership with Tangible's Portland Office. The 1 minute piece was created to be showcased at select T-Mobile stores as an effort to promote Samsung's new Android phone "Behold II". The music was created by Darrin Wiener, aka "Plastiq Phantom" of Imputor Records.

The technology of “Spatial Sound Reproduction” (SSR) aims to accurately reproduce the complex spatial properties of a sound environment such as localisation, amplitude, or direction of various sources. The Deutsche Telekom Laboratories (T-Labs) engineered a flexible soundscape rendering application, for which contentismissing developed a graphical multitouch user-interface.

Project Scope

The application allows for multiple clients to connect to a central server and modify the scene and the system parameters. It enables two scenarios, namely a “telco”, in which the user can assign different emphasis to the telephone conference participants, and a “music” scenario, where various soundsources and tracks can be spatially shifted and remixed. The multi-touch GUI was designed and implemented as an Adobe AIR application with the necessary functionalities for connectivity to the interactive display unit and the central SSR server.
